Description:
The Junior Database Developer/Administrator serves as a member of the Loyola development team responsible for requirements analysis, program design, development, testing, and documentation of Geospatially enabled databases and database support.
The primary duties of the Junior Database Developer/Administrator will be to design and code programs, develop documentation from software requirements and system specifications and work with other staff in a team environment. The Junior Database Developer/Administrator may also be asked to assist in GIS analysis as well as GIS data management tasks.
The successful candidate will be a working member of several project development teams, and be familiar with Oracle 10g, PL/SQL development, system design and development, user interface development and application integration, GIS data development and conversion, and relational database design and documentation. The successful candidate will have an understanding of geospatial data collection, geospatial data formats, and Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards.

Required Skills:
2+ years Oracle development or administration, Java, JavaScript, strong analytical skills, relational database design, Linux.

Preferred Skills:
ESRI ArcSDE, XML, ODBC, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Spatial, and ETL processing.

Education:
BS Computer Science or other related disciplines or the equivalent of specialized experience and appropriate education.
