Airspace DepictionLoyola, in a company sponsored R&D effort, has taken data generated for the Web-Based Airspace Visualization tool to a higher level of realism. Using ArcInfo, World Construction Set, Lightwave 3D, ERDAS Imagine, and proprietary software, Loyola develops Photo-Realistic Airspace Depiction visualizations that depict aircraft flying in real-time over real terrain. Environmental flight restrictions are part of the realistic fly-throughs so viewers can observe from all camera angles any aspect of an aircraft or multiple aircraft flying through sensitive environmental areas. Photo-Realistic Airspace Depiction users run 3-D visualizations that were previously only available on very high-end UNIX machines. |
