Airspace Risk Assessment

Loyola supported a multi-function expert system designed to assist Air Force Personnel make informed decisions about where to fly aircraft. Vector and Raster data is stored on an Oracle Database. Data about the land underneath the airspace is extracted using a spatial "cookie cutter" technique. The airspace is "cookie cut" through the land-use data layers, and the information derived is used in Risk calculations. Results are returned in an Oracle Report. Imagery and layers are assessed in a 2D top down view, and visualized in a 3D VRML simulation.
