Airspace VisualizationThis Loyola Web-Based Airspace Visualization project allows pilots, airspace planner, managers, and analysts, to fly Military Training Routes (MTRs), Military Operations Areas (MOAs), and other airspace with a standard Web browser. All CONUS military airspace is available to users who can view and navigate the Web-Based Airspace Visualization corridors with airspace restrictions and digital flight charts draped over real terrain. The Web-Based Airspace Visualization user hops on the tail of an aircraft to get a 3-D unprecedented view of how flying through airspace relates to restrictions and environmental factors including weather situations that up until now have been abstract and difficult to represent. This capability results in much more productive consultations with land management agencies (BLM, FWS, NPS, etc.) since discussions about the data are minimized, and mitigation is directly addressed. |
