GeoBase

Loyola successfully accomplished this GeoBase project under contract for the F-22 MILCON program at Langley AFB. To effectively communicate issues relevant to construction of new F-22 facilities at Langley AFB, Loyola developed a user interactive 3-dimensional visualization that depicted each phase of the construction from the existing facilities to completion of construction of the new hangars and support facilities. This GeoBase solution is Web-based and viewable in a standard Web Browser, and does not require the purchase and installation of additional software.

The 3-D visualization entailed the combination of a variety of geospatial data sets obtained from the GeoBase Integration office at Air Combat Command, and included CAD drawings, architectural renderings, digital photos, high-resolution imagery, elevated terrain around the hangars, brickwork with colors and textures appropriate for the structure, construction fences, temporary facilities, parking ramps, and other designated areas of interest. The phased construction and workflow GeoBase process was modeled and associated with the project milestones.
